Its more evolution rather than revolution! Not sure if the LTE version will be sold in the UK though in advance of EE launching their 4G offering

WHS. Well maybe an 8yo nokia but if you use a smartphone you are the type who wants to stay current.

It will be. Order it online from Friday, or get it in a shop the Friday after.

My 2009 3GS is still going strong, despite never having had its battery replaced

But yes, at some point I'll go for a 5.

I need to have a proper play with iOS 6 (which BTW is now available to those on the iOS developer programme). The one thing I will miss is Street View in Apple's new non-Google Maps app, as I use that all the time

A number of people who have been using 6 for a while reckon a really useful feature on a daily-use basis is the new phone stuff, like being able to send calls to voicemail while also sending a preset text message back, and the "Do Not Disturb unless it's one of x group of people" feature. As I hate using the phone, I might leave that on all the time

WHS. The battery issue is not an issue at all, though it goes without saying that Apple won't be providing support for expandable storage, and will be charging £200 extra for £20 worth of flash. Which of course is the one everybody will buy. Kerching.

NFC is a suprise, but then presumably their own wallet system involves giving Apple a cut from any transaction in a way that they can't manage with NFC.
Will work inside IR35. Or for food.

Is it possible to still get google maps as an app? For those, like me, that want street view?

I read this, do ytou think it sounds like street view?

built from ground up to use vectors, for smoothness. Built a search engine in. 100 million POIs in there. And free turn-by-turn. Looks good. 3D buildings and a cool flyover mode

                    Just wonderin'

Not from the photos I saw from the conference, it looked like 3d google earth city buildings,i.e vector drawn buildings and not real life photos street view style. I use street view quite a lot whenever looking at holiday locations, parking near client co. Hotels I am thinking of staying in etc. ok, I could still do this on a laptop via google mad online but having it on the iPad and then having it taken away does seem like a backwards step IMO in "upgrading" to IOS6 when I get features I wouldn't use like Siri for iPad for example.
