I think this is the kind of thing unions are actually good for - I don't like the way unions use bullying tactics themselves to strong-arm employers but standing up for the individual is a great thing.

The problem with a bully though is that they often use any complaint as an excuse to 'get you when nobody's looking'. Making a formal complaint or even getting the union in might not really help if they don't back down and the company is not willing to take extreme measures if things don't stop - fire someone for bullying and they might sue for unfair dismissal since bullying is hard to objectively prove.

I mean just look at Sas... he got banned for targeting me last year and it only made him worse

        summary so far:

i can see this discussion is breaking into two schools of thought

        a, those who advocate nannying

b, those who advocate developing skills to overcome challenges like this

        Milan.

That's daft. Once you're in such a relationship, that is the worst possible place to be learning how to deal with it. A woman learns the strength to get out of an abusive relationship when she's not in the relationship.

No. I mean like how BrilloPad didn't decide the best way to train for an IronMan was by doing an IronMan.

I didn't know Brillo was 'doing Ironmen' !

I thought Brillo was in a heterosexual relationship ?

                He has children doesn't he.

There was à particularly spiteful woman in a cheese packing factory in which I once worked who had it in for me.

Anyhow, wé used to stand next to à conveyor belt on which would be transportéd big blocks of cheese from an adjoining room by way of à curtained orifice in the wall.

Well, after à brief lull in production whilst the assembled workforce was stood twiddling its collective thumb, the conveyor starts up and instead of the expected block of cheese emanating from behind the curtain, there's old Buggeridge completely starkers, flat on his back processing towards the shrink wrapper with his Little Duke on full display.

I fortunately managed to get off before I was processed any further.

I was duly escorted off the premises. Was worth it though just to see the look on that old harradan's face.
                  That is quite simply, genius.

to be honest, Malc could have done better,

                    I was expecting this:

'I fortunately managed to get off before I was processed any further.'

                    to really say this:

'I fortunately managed to get [one] off before I was processed any further.'
