Is it morally (or indeed legally) wrong to buy something you know or at least reasonably suspect is stolen? After all, it's none of your business how the seller came by the goods.

There should be no morals about it. The legislators over the years have made taxation so complicated and expensive that there is no surprise that people are working the system. Spare me the sanctimonious crap about morality and get the government to simplify the whole thing.

No, but I think it's morally wrong for someone to masquerade as a conservative while putting across such illiberal, statist arguments (David Gauke). Effectively he's saying HM Government has the right to nose about in your transactions because HM Government knows better.

She HUGELY simplified the tax system - reduced it 2 rates and cut out loads of regulations.
