It will be interesting to see which socialist policies he practices.Originally posted by Robinho View PostHe probably is a socialist. Degrees don't always relate to job. Certainly that was the case while only 13% of the population had degrees. My first boss, Mr Tulip, had a degree in botany. Yes - he was a crap manager as well.Originally posted by TimberWolf View Post...He's also got a degree in ancient history. How the flip did he even end up working in a bank?Down with racism. History is one of the key degrees to serious jobs in most non-science fields; always has been though I don't know why.Originally posted by TimberWolf View PostBlair's son Euan wants to stand as an MP. He was working as an investment banker for Morgan Stanley, his mother and father are multimillionaires and he alleges he's a passionate socialist. Who is going to vote for him? I can't see socialists being keen on him.

I don't see a contradiction with having a high-paid job and being a socialist; what your parents think/do/own is (should be) irrelevant just like Cameron's Dad's offshore tax avoidance.
I doubt he'll get much popularity but he deserves a shot. And think about it - we're always complaining MPs haven't had 'real jobs', but this guy did

Botany is a respectable science. I once had an entomologist as a manger. He was okay, but obviously wouldn't be doing anything too logically demanding.Originally posted by NotAllThere View PostDegrees don't always relate to job.
