    Slightly related....

Researchers state that the moon being where it is makes life on earth possible and that the moon is not a natural phenomenon and was 'put' there (by who is clearly debatable).

    Facts (that could be coincidence):

The Earth rotates about 366 times per orbit of the sun, and has a polar diameter 366.0431 percent larger than the moons.

The moon has an orbital period of 27.32 days and has a diameter 27.32 percent that of the Earths polar diameter.

The suns diameter is 109.2 times the size of Earths diameter, and the distance from the earth to the sun when we are at our furthest from it is 109.2 sun diameters.

If you divide 109.2 by 4 you get 27.3

The Moon is 400 times smaller than the Sun in diameter and the Moon is 400 times closer to the Earth than the Sun which is why, during a total solar eclipse, the Moon appears to cover the Sun perfectly. Also, the Moon is rotating at a rate of 400km per Earth day and the Earth rotates at a speed 400 times faster than that of the Moon.

366 moon orbits equal 10000 days

I've given up with all this, for years I've pondered it all, lain on my back for night after after night pondering the planets and stars and how it cannot all be accident. Then it came to me in a flash.

Must get a new roof for this house.....

This is a coincidence. A few (well, many) years ago, the moon was closer to the earth. It's gradually moving away. In the future, there will be no total eclipses. Only annular eclipses which happen even now.
Down with racism. Long live miscegenation!

I think its more the fact that of 1,000 stats five have been similar so a theory has been created around that ignoring everything else, ie someone has read what they wanted to out of the facts to sell a book which although I haven't read I could hazard a guess probably doesn't answer the question definitively anyway.

The Sun and Moon size/distance ratio seems quite a coincidence, unless aliens visiting a couple of million years ago shifted the Moon's distance from the Earth for a laugh, to produce perfect eclipses on the Earth's surface.

But the moon's rotation, keeping one face moreorless facing Earth, isn't much of a coincidence because the rotation of a non-tidally locked planet/moon constantly warps it back and forth slightly in the radial gravity field of its parent body. This produces heat which radiates away, thus slowing its rotation and/or making its orbit spiral.

              Yes indeed.

You need an extra cold pint of Guinness and a funny cartoon showing a Scientist looking through a microscope and seeing a tiny Scientist looking through a microscope and in turn he too sees yet another microscopic Scientist.... Now think about that second pint getting chilled and ready for you... Yummy.
