Consider getting a proper designer. In general, technical people aren't good designers, and designers aren't technical.

Search Engine Optimisation, be wary of of this as 99% of people who offer you this and guarantee 1st place placement on Google are rip-off merchants. Its the grubby side of the industry but a necessary evil.

But only if you want people to find you. If the purpose of the website is simply to look respectable (ho ho ho) when calling up companies then there will be little need to worry about it.

Thinking about it find a wordpress host and hunt a suitable theme. for what you want it will do everything you want and let you update it yourself.

Didn't Jobserve used to give away noddy sites if you bought enough adverts.

Micro instances (fine if the code is decent and you're not getting that many visitors are free for the 1st year with a new account).

Most of the micro instances I use cost me $10 or so a month (windows based spot instances).
