You are talking about enterprise, not capitalism. Capitalists make a living through capital, rather that work
Actually I rather agree with you on that one although the distinction between the two is not always simple, anymore than the distinction between useful work and "shuffling money around" is simple.
A property owner may put a lot of effort into managing his properties, he might make his tenants happy. A manufacturer may put the same effort into making some unecessary ornament. Is the latter really more useful to society than the former? Most capitalism also is not about very wealthy people but about pensions funds etc managing the savings of ordinary people who have provided for their retirement.
No one has ever argued that unfetterred capitalism is desirable or workable, nor has anyone said the same about socialism
Read back through the thread and I think you'll find that both you and Lisa argued against my assertion that unfettered capitalism isn't going to work, in fact you even went so far as to describe me as it's "living embodiment". That sounds an awful lot like you are arguing for it to me.
While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'
Enterprise is all well and good while you're young and still have your looks. But it's getting tough nowadays. Rates are down and I can't be so choosy about my assignments anymore. I think a little bit of socialism is just what I need in my old age.
