What exactly are YOU thinking that graph shows BB? Looks like an upward trend (slight) to me.Originally posted by MaryPoppinsI'd still not breastfeed a naziOriginally posted by vetranUrine is quite nourishing -
If that vertical axis is 30mm, each marker is 1 mm. So in 7 years the peaks and toughs should have gone up quite a lot. They dont.Originally posted by d000hg View PostWhat exactly are YOU thinking that graph shows BB? Looks like an upward trend (slight) to me.
There is a slight trend upwards, as you say, but then it starts to drop at the end.
If you look at some of the extreme scare stories, 1.7 m by 2100, you would expect each peak to be half a page higher than the last(and in the fiddled figures, it is)(\__/)

Well the raw data shows an increase of 2mm in 7 years but nothing like the "rotated graph".
I'll repost the link from Mörner, and you can reread it in light of the actual satellite data, which shows he was drawing graph of the actual data not rotating some graph.

The debate is not about whether Mörner is a delusional idiot suffering from Alzheimer's but whether the adjustments are justifiable.I'm alright JackComment

Yes but you have to question the science when the most rudimentary examination suggests natural and cyclic changes.Originally posted by pjclarkeYou don't falsify a long term projection with 7 years worth of data. Here's the AVISO plot from the same data, somewhat different:-
I don't know why there is a difference; but I do know that blogger Steve Goddard has a history of making stuff up.
I live by the sea and know many local landmarks that have ancient high water marks and they all show a 120 - 150 year cycle. I have noticed the same in rivers and coastlines all over Europe.Just saying like.
where there's chaos, there's cash !
I could agree with you, but then we would both be wrong!

Just imagine if you had a pet theory that happened to match one leg of that natural cycle. For year after year you would be vindicatedOriginally posted by Arturo Bassick View PostYes but you have to question the science when the most rudimentary examination suggests natural and cyclic changes.

Indeed there seems to be plenty of evidence around the world of sea level variations up and down but no real discernible trend. Hard to see where the extra water is going to come from with no discernible temperature trends in either Antarctica or Greenland.Originally posted by Arturo Bassick View PostYes but you have to question the science when the most rudimentary examination suggests natural and cyclic changes.

Folowr3 He has given us a sign!
Folowr5 He has given us... a shoe!
Folowr3 The shoe is the sign. Let us follow his example.
Spike What?
Folowr3 Let us, like him, hold up one shoe and let the other be upon our foot for this is His sign, and all who follow Him shall do likewise.
Folowr2 Yes.
Folowr5 No no no.
Folowr2 No.
Folowr5 The shoe is a sign that we must gather shoes together in a bundle.
Folowr4 Cast off the shoes. Follow the gourd.
Spike What?
Folowr5 No. Let us gather shoes together. Let me...
Folowr4 Get off!
Folowr2 No, no. It is a sign that like him, we must think not of things of the body, but of the face, and head.
Folowr5 Give me your shoe.
Folowr2 Get off!
Folowr4 Follow the gourd. The holy gourd of Jerusalem.
Folowr5 The gourd!
Folowr6 Hold up the sandal, as He has commanded us.
Folowr3 It is a shoe! It is a shoe!
Folowr6 It is a sandal!
Folowr3 No, it is a shoe!
Folowr4 Cast it away!
Folowr5 Put it on!
Folowr2 Clear off!
Folowr5 Take the shoes and follow him!Comment

any extra water has to come from the Antarctic, realistically. Maybe Greenland if it all melted.Originally posted by BlasterBates View PostIndeed there seems to be plenty of evidence around the world of sea level variations up and down but no real discernible trend. Given that the are frozen solid for most of the year, and even if they melted they would form lakes and inland seas, the amount of water that would have to come off them by 2100 is just mathematically impossible. If it was going to happen, we would be seeing it now -not natural calving, but massive humoungous rivers
quiz question - whats the biggest river in the world ?
a - the amazon
wrong - this river is three times bigger than the amazon and it only flows for 5 months of the year
a- Ah that must be the river Balderdash in Antartica
correct(\__/)

Who is John Hunter? Are we sure he doesn't have a political agenda, which Mörner's viewpoint doesn't fit in with.
Have you got evidence of Mörner being diagnosed with some mental health illness?
Professor Mörner was head of INAQUA for 13 years, how did this "old duffer" hold such a distinguished position, how does a "duffer" get appointed to be professor. If John Hunter knew better why wasn't he a professor of oceanography?
Why was someone with a mental health problem or old "duffer" invited to give evidence at the House of Lords select commitee?
When I read his testimony it seems to be extremely lucid indeed.
It seems to be quite common in this debate to resort to personal defamation.Last edited by BlasterBates; 6 December 2011, 11:01.I'm alright JackComment

One thing is certain. There are a lot of people that need to get laid on both sides of the debate. While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'Comment
