On a related note, which of the following would you do...

Would you pay £150 extra on top of your premium to have a nil excess or would you take an excess of lets say £500?

Take the £500 excess. There is a whole industry based on shafting you, but if you fight back it might just die a death?

They got my up by 20% but others were worse, looks like they decided to milk their safe drivers user-base...

No, because any claims under £500 should be settled without making an insurance claim because it will cost you more than that in next 5 years of increased "premiums" (wtf called it that?) regardless if you had NCB insured or not.

Frankly the whole idea of insured NCB makes no sense.

What did you do, stick go-faster stripes along the side of the PUG?

Apparently Birmingham is now worse than London for car accidents

                Higher excess without a doubt.

With the way premiums escalate (irrespective of blame) I'd only make a claim if the damage was quite severe or included damage to someone else's vehicle/property/person.

                  Hardly surprising given your driving.

It's never been the same here in Brum since AtW got his sofa.

My ******* insurance has gone sky high and my renewal this year is more than what I paid 4 years ago!! Every year I would find a cheaper alternative on comparison websies but this time all of them are more expensive than the renewal offer.
