I have an 1999 Omega Seamaster. It's nice, not too expensive that I fear people will cut my arm off for it, and occasionally it tells me the correct time. It does need a new capacitor or something in it though.

I intend to upgrade now and I fancy a Rolex Sub, but rather than showing it off, for me it is about every time I look at it I would know how hard I've worked to own one.

And the beauty of expensive watches is that they're an investment. Try and buy a Rolex within the last 20 years that isn't worth the same or more than the original retail price. Buy it, wear it for 5 years, sell it, don't lose any money / even make money.

    Win : Win situation IMO

I don't wear any, and why should I when I can just use my time machine to go whenever I want?

How do I put this in a polite way?

It looks like something that Halo and BGG would wear...

I was thinking that, but its the right side for me as I wear my watch on the wrong hand

Its OK, I did not buy it in order to make you admire it. I got it for me.
