<Daily Wail mode> Yes. In my day, we didn't have magicians and bouncy castles, oh no, we made our own fun, and we didn't expect a cake, no, we were happy with an extra crumb of bread and on my birthday I got a tangerine!

Bollocks; if you can afford to give her a good party and you don't spoil her otherwise, then get on with it and stop whingeing like a daily wail reader; that's real middle class tosh, giving your daughter a fun birthday isn't.

I don't understand what happened to that on General. Used to be all about Plan B's. Bought myself a Porsche. Going on holiday to top hotel. My new rate is 50% more.

Seems to me that we're stuck with a lot of permies and unsuccessful contractors who think it's dynamic to sit in a pub
nursing a half of mild, smoking rollups and bleating on about how the government has screwed them over and how anyone successful or wants to get on with it must be some type of capitalistic scum.

The tragedy is, you still do!

Same with Incognito, except in his case it is a wee sash.

Of course she is. Do you really expect us to believe that someone who must presumably have such an analytical mind could ever have decided it was a good idea to shack up with a delusional loser like you? Pull the other one!!

Right. Thanks for all the advice.

I've gone with the consensus and booked the magician.

I thought £200 was a lot for a childrens entertainer but seems that's correct.

He must be good though. He's just made £200 vanish.

4 hours at £15 per hour. OK. Sorted with that.

And hired a bouncy castle. £60. Fine with that

And booked a children entertainer and magician. £200 for two hours. WTF! £100 PER HOUR!!

And paid caterers to do the food £120!!!! WTF £120 for the a childrens ******* party!

£440 for a four hour childrens party!!! WTF!!!!

You urgently need to reset some expectations.

5 is hardly a milestone is it?

But this is not about the 5th. Your wife is testing you on how lavish you are prepared to go.

£440 now is nothing. It will really cost you at 16, 18, 21 and wedding.

                  Women play the long game.

He'll probably tell you he used to be an IT contractor in banking; contracts dried up, moved to plan B and now earns twice as much.
