Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.

      I preferred version 1!

Assuming you're a Northerner though, you could just show her the metal tubes that go under the ground and that electrickery thing. She'll be blown away by those.
And then you can get her to blow her nose and be amazed at the colour of her snot and imagine how much of that black stuff made it into her lungs!!

Did that the last time I went to London. Seven years ago, not been since. Disgustingly filthy place.

I did a spell as a motorcycle courier in London in my student days. Riding in on the A13 on summer mornings you could see a yellow/green haze over the city. I wore a DIY filter mask under the bike helmet and threw them away at the end of each day cos if you pulled it in half it was black all the way through.

On the plus side, parking the bike up in Soho Square of a lunch time did provide some cracking sight seeing when the girls came out of the local offices for lunch

Back on topic, the only reason we go down there these days is for a specific event like the Chelsea Flower Show.

I did the old courier bit in late '83 to spring '84 at Addison Lee and a small family run set up in Fulham. Commuting in and out from the East you'd certainly go through some of the crappier parts. I wonder if my old CX is still on the road.

If you go on a boat to Greenwich, make sure to take the right one. There are commuter ones and tourist ones, the tourist one gives a good commentary. I recommend the tourist one. (Don't know the name, but it travels between Westminster and Greenwich and also docks at London Eye when going upriver and the Tower of London on the way both up and down, I think.)

The ticket allows you to hop on and off as often as you like on the day, so you can make a round trip and stop at the Tower and Greenwich for as long as you like.

(The commentary is mostly between Westminster and the Tower, there's less to say between Tower and Greenwich.)

Go up the Monument. If you suffer from either dizziness or vertigo or both it's an absolute blast!
