This is CUK General you know. And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014 -
French and Italian children are still noisy and run amok though. The difference isn't in the parental attitude so much as the attitude of people at large, who in "everyday" sorts of places are all together more tolerant than people in the UK.Originally posted by Mich the Tester View PostI've also noticed how French and Italian people generally give their children the sort of upbringing that makes that a perfectly responsible thing to do, unlike many British, or worse still, Dutch parents. While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'Comment

So you're saying that kids shouldn't be allowed on planes now then right?Originally posted by Board Game Geek View PostNice. Remind me never to have the misfortune of sharing public transport with you or your brood.
If you didn't think about the potential harm that flying can impact on a young baby, and also threatened the people in front of you with physical assault, then I'm surprised you weren't arrested on landing for being a danger to others. Others have been arrested for far less. What happens in General, stays in General. You know what they say about assumptions!Comment

I never seen French, Belgian, Spanish and Scandinavian children running around in and shouting restaurants in their own countries though when their parents, grandparents or another adult member of their family is present.Originally posted by doodab View PostFrench and Italian children are still noisy and run amok though. I have seen them noisy and running amok on their own particularly if they are teenage.

Make sense,Originally posted by doodab View PostOver here this is common knowledge, so you have two types of places, the ones with lots of kids in where the clientele know what to expect and are a bit more indulgent and the ones without any kids in where they are quite rightly upset if you turn up with a noisy child. So basically, if you want child free dining go somewhere that doesn't have high chairs and a kids menu. Otherwise, be prepared to deal with children being children.
it's just not that simple as you will allways get people taking kids to where they are not wanted & adults wanting a quit life in a kid orientated placeGrowing old is mandatory
Growing up is optionalComment

Hermaphrodite?Originally posted by SueEllen View PostNot everyone in the UK is part of a small nuclear family.
Unfortunately for some of my nephews and nieces they clearly have some of the same genes as me.
Was very amusing when their parents couldn't work out where a particular feature came from.Comment

French and Italian people are generally more tolerant because they aren't subjected to so many chavs, jobsworths, incompetent ´helpdesk´ agents and other assorted gits every day. And the weather's better.Originally posted by PrinceNamor View PostSpot on.

I wouldn't describe the Italians as pro-children. Italy has one of the lowest birth rates on the planet.Originally posted by PrinceNamor View PostIn what resepct? Do you just dislike them in general? Were you ever a small child? I guess mummy and daddy always had you under perfect control. It seems society today is so anti children - its refreshing to go to Italy or France were its the norm to take children out with you for a meal. You won't be alerting anyone to anything with a mouthful of mixed seeds.Comment
