Ooh, sorry, did I mention sex? Shouldn't do that around new parents should I? A bit like mentioning steak and kidney pie in a Sudanese refugee camp. Terribly unfair.

That's excessively judgemental and self righteous, what gives you the right to criticise someone else's perfectly legal and sensible choices?Originally posted by original PM View PostI find people who don't want kids tend to be self centred selfish egotistical winkers.
They give many reasons for not wanting kids but it all boils down to "I cannot be arsed because I am the most important person in my life."
I've got 3 children and generally speaking I'm happy about it, but if people decide that they don't want kids then that's their decision and nowt to do with me.Comment

You can have a life and have kids. I sort of resent the implication in these types of threads that those of us with kids are somehow to be pitied.Originally posted by norrahe View PostDon't like small kids and as for ever having any I prefer having a life (like MTT and HJ), and that's my choice, if other people wish to pro create then that's their choice.Practically perfect in every way....there's a time and (more importantly) a place for malarkey.

That's probably about accurate; they say there's a fifty percent chance of surviving the crossing.Originally posted by zeitghostHalf of Africa seems to be landing on the pointy bit down the end.

Mrs Jog and I fall into the catagory of not wanting kids 'yet'
She's a nanny and spends all day looking after other people's and I'm quite happy without the responsibility - for now..
That's probably why we can't get all gooey over other people's little darlings who can do no wrong even when interfering with other people's night out in restaurants.
Noise is understandable but when they are running past my table screaming and knocking stuff over I take exception. Especially when the parents just carry on and let them get on with it.
Not the child's fault - just bad parenting I suppose."Is someone you don't like allowed to say something you don't like? If that is the case then we have free speech."- Elon MuskComment

Just you darlin.Originally posted by MaryPoppins View PostYou can have a life and have kids. I sort of resent the implication in these types of threads that those of us with kids are somehow to be pitied.
There are many reasons why logic overtakes the nature when it comes to having children. It is more prevalent in the modern age that women decide not to have kids(at the end of the day it's not really the choice of a man, unless of course you shoot blanks like a few of our posters on here so you cant do anything at all)
This is down to a misplaced notion of equality & wanting to have a career/life. Personally it went downhill when women got the vote. What happens in General, stays in General. You know what they say about assumptions!Comment

I shall miss that gypsy wedding program...Originally posted by MarillionFan View PostCould be worse. Could be me or worse still gypsies!
back OT - in my day my parents and friends would go out for lunch and then spend the rest of the afternoon chatting around the table and getting smashed- for 3-4 hours sometimes.
Luckily it was the 80s and the place they went to had wrestling on the TV so I'd watch Big Daddy and Giant haystacks

MTTSOriginally posted by Mich the Tester View PostThat's because people with kids are so often asking why people don't want kids, then trying to convince us of how wonderful kids are, so people who don't want kids have to think up stupid reasons for not wanting them.
For us there's no 'reason'; it's just not something we want. Simple.
It's called having a choice.Comment

Initially I did not want kids as I could not provide for them what I considered an acceptable living standard, then I spent 5 years at Uni to improve my life & I am now in a profession where if the worst happens I can look after BGG financially, emotionally & completely; not something I could do with kids.Originally posted by original PM View PostI find people who don't want kids tend to be self centred selfish egotistical winkers.

There is also the argument that those who procreate are adding to the over population of this planet.
Everyone should just accept that people do / do not have kids for many reasons & no generalisation will cover them all so please take your insults buck to the land of the intolerant.Growing old is mandatory
