Learnt a new word today though - dreck - thanks 2BIT. I can also relate to the 'broadcaster' type - NEW GIRL does that alongside the constant laughing to herself and looking around to see who's going to ask what she's laughing at.
it is a fave of mine

haha, I really know the type - try laughing along with her next time but don't ask what she is laughing at - it will confuse her as she will get attention she wanted but she wont understand why, if she tries to explain what she was laughing at look at her dead in the eye and say 'yeah i know' - you gotta mess with these peoples minds

well I may as well stay here for a while, Mr-Shouty started his morning conference call 20 minutes ago meaning I cannot focus on what I'm doing, sad thing is I've just realised that it is not a conference call at all it is actually a new episode in the 'getting mother to move in to a home' saga that has been going on for the last few months - at current clientco long personal calls seem to be encouraged but only at ludicrously loud volumes.... guy is actually a nice bloke but is such a plonker he's made me use word I thought was 'uncool' in the 80's but there is no other way to describe him

I once worked in a building that juddered at about 9:30 every morning. We naturally assumed it was something to do with plate tectonics and ley lines. After weeks of research, we found out it was a delivery lorry going over a speed bump.
what are your tips to beating it? i don't realise I'm doing it until someone glares at me!!

And many other new book such as "Tipping point", "Blink", "the 80/20 rule" etc. these books that are about 1 idea the author has.
The idea can be good or bad, real or nuts, but don't waste my time getting through 300 pages for something that could be explained in 5.

Aren't there any good books that are not fiction (pointless in my opinion) or too drawn out?
Just concise interesting books about stuff in the real world.
That is all I ask for.

Try the Feynmann lectures on physics.
While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'

Yeah, I bought a marketing book last year that had been updated from a 2002 version.

Repetitious, inaccurate, contradicted itself, and only some bits had been updated, others were way out of date.

I think I left it on a train out of disgust.

Very short and written in a definite satirical style but still full of relevant content!

Your posts are of a more perverted nature lately. May I ask whether you have replaced smoking with increased perversion?

or my smoking was suppressing the latent perversion.
