I liked my Rover P4 90.

It had a switch on the dashboard that gave you an extra gallon.

If you've ever tried to push a P4, you'll know exactly why there's a .

Early VW Beetles didn't have a fuel gauge. There was a switch on the floor that you flicked with your foot.

With Minis and Morris Minors you could hear the fuel pump ticking when you were down to half a gallon. At that point you could stop driving with your foot to the floor, coast down hills, and make it to a fuel station.
