You know, they say someone knows that have lost an argument when they result to insults, never mind I'll give you another chance, given your anger issues. I know 'manufacturing' provided bigger tax revenues under Blair than the city of London did, but that's not manufacturing as Germany would know it. We are talking largely components, which isn't so impressive. The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.
But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.” -

I came from engineering and my BEng(Hons) trumps your dribbling little arsey mouth over that 100 times.
Britain as an engineering nation was shafted in the 70s, British Leyland used to have people sleeping out the back of the factory every night in tents.
Thatcher shut this down, no more money.Comment

I have to say I used to buy into the "Thatcher closed everything down and now we have no industry", and then I went to Germany and the mines and the steel works all closed there as well, it was just slower, but didn't make a lot of difference, in the end there was just as many steel and mining ghosts towns as there were in the UK.
In fact I was listening to my mother the other day and she said the problem in the hospitals was that the Mrs Thatcher had outsourced the cleaning and so the hospitals were now full of death bugs, and then I thought , but they have the same problem in Germany, oh and in Holland and in France.
The truth is a lot of changes were just happening and you couldn't stop them.
In fact the same thing happened in the Soviet Union, they didn't dump communism because of ideology, they dumped it because they were on the verge of bankruptcy, and they badly needed, well money actually, and then guess what they closed all the steel works there too.
The truth is the world's changed, it's gone from a labour intensive industrial society to a high tech service economy, that's actually what happened, but some people would rather get up at 5 am in the morning, work in heat and noise for 40 years and the die of "Silicosis" at the age of 55.Last edited by BlasterBates; 26 October 2010, 07:54.I'm alright JackComment
