The nation does not have the stomach for a national strike and they may try it on but it will be the Tories the nation will be behind.
It's not like the days where there were 4 channels and we always kept some powdered milk "just in case".
We are totally spoiled now, suffering is forgetting to tape the x factor on Saturday night and have to wait till Sunday to watch the re run. Food must be brough to the consumers home in 1 hour from the intial call.
Interupt power/food or travel and the public will not stand for it.
Still I might buy some crates of assorted tinned food when I'm next down the cash and carry and if a strike comes i'll get the neighbours round and we can all launch them at the picket lines as we drink fine wines and laugh that way we rich people laugh.Comment

British Airways losses amout to £531 mil so the cabin staff go on strike for better pay and conditions. WTF!!!
The country is in a huge amount of debt and everyone agree's savings must be made to reduce the debt so the civil service goes on strike which is going to cost even more money so requiring greater cuts in the future. WTF!!
I just don't understand it Guess I just need to turn the radio off when this type of news comes on just so my blood doesn't start to boil.
Maybe it is easy to say when it's not actually my job at risk but still...........
And most people don't realise that the last boom was artificial and that we are now bust(ish).Hard Brexit now!

The nation as a whole does seem to be behind the cuts, even when they might be affected but what, if anything, will they do about it?Maybe we should have a strike breakers union, we could call it SCAB. Stop the Commie A*hole Brigade.
PS As long as the Tory bastards don't cut my winter fuel allowance obviously.bloggoth

Of course quite a lot of them won't strike, but will just go on sick leave.Comment

While some of them may be unecessary that doesn't mean there won't be a big impact if they strike, redundancy gets built into the structure and organisations may need to be structured differently to be more efficient.
Perhaps the more useful departments will be kept hanging around in the dark because the department that scrutinises applications for replacement office lightbulbs has walked out.bloggoth

It's because most in the public sector believe that the deficit is entirely and completely caused by the bankers - therefore they are having to pay for the bankers mistakes.
What they want to see is banker's being taxed at 99% so that they don't have to take a pay freeze or lose their pensions.Comment
