Train arrived on time but then I had to wait about a minute for my connection.

Then I got a coffee. It was nice.

It came in one of those paper cups with the sort of plasticy lining but the lid was definitely all plastic.

    Exciting stuff eh.

Yes, seems there was a BOGOF offer running when you started the first one up, and in all the excitement, admin forgot to lock one down.

Well, in case there is any doubt, I'd like to clarify that this is the official Gricerboy MTJTM Thread.

Don't want to lose any readers to the upstart splinter thread!

My train journey this morning is still ongoing; intercity train running very slowly, no explanation offered.
And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014

The normal explanation for this phenomenon is that there is a slow moving train ahead of you.

I've often been tempted to do an in depth study on this and present my results graphically as I suspect that there would be a wave like pattern.

Well I had a complete disaster this morning getting to work. I went to the garden shed at 6:05 am to wheel out the recumbent for what I was expecting to be a thoroughly rain soaked peddle to WSM station when I noticed, to my horror, that I had a flat tyre.

I was left with 2 options; either to repair the puncture or recommission my old Fred Dawes 10 speed. I quickly discounted the former option owing to my lack of practical skills in such matters and went for the latter. This also posed a problem regarding in what waterproof apparel to attire myself. Normally I wear a banana suit that is specially designed for recumbents but, owing to its design, is not at all suitable for uprights. I was shortly to learn this to my cost as I traversed a raised kerb outside the station and, owing to the strictures of the banana suit, was unable to prevent my nether regions from a violent collision with my crossbar.

I have been at work for about 20 minutes and am feeling very sore at the moment; I can't imagine what damage I may have done myself. I will feel much happier once I have found a private place to give myself an intimate examination.

Well, my feet have scarcely touched the ground after yesterday's incredible revelations. Every time I put a foot forward the words "soon to be a Rotarian" go through my head! It's all so exciting.
So exciting, in fact, that I forgot to make a note of the number of clicketty clacks between Yate and Wooton Basset West this morning. Regular readers of my postings will recall that I was planning on undertaking a survey into the discontinuities in continuous rail on the British Rail Network. Rather than doing it all in one go (I did try once but I lost count lol!) I thought I would break the task into a number of stages. Seems like I can't even manage to do it in bite sized chunks at the moment. I do hope my forethcoming induction into the elite world of Rotarianism isn't going to interfere with my gricing activities too much!
