So exciting, in fact, that I forgot to make a note of the number of clicketty clacks between Yate and Wooton Basset West this morning. Regular readers of my postings will recall that I was planning on undertaking a survey into the discontinuities in continuous rail on the British Rail Network. Rather than doing it all in one go (I did try once but I lost count lol!) I thought I would break the task into a number of stages. Seems like I can't even manage to do it in bite sized chunks at the moment. I do hope my forethcoming induction into the elite world of Rotarianism isn't going to interfere with my gricing activities too much!
Have you been interviewed and balloted yet?

Can you still be 'blackballed' or is that now racist?

You know what they say about assumptions!

I don't know, I'm a Mason, not a Rotarian. However, I'm sure Gricerboy can let you know.

No, I have just been nominated. Not entirely sure of the procedure between nomination and receiving the letter from Mr. Klinginsmith.

I shouldn't worry too much about the Letter from Ray, you won't get one.

Do you have to stand up in front of three judges and sing? Remember to learn your words!

                On time.

Enough smoke being emitted from the trailing carriage to conceal a battle fleet.
I don't think you'll find it was a "Trailing" carriage given that you travel in a bog unit every day. That trailing carriage would have had an integral Metro Camell (AEC) 6-cylinder diesel of 150 hp (112 kW) powering it so you are inaccurate to assert that it was a trailing carriage.

                  Trailing as in "behind"?

To a rail enthusiast, trailing suggests the rear carriage in a locomotive hauled configuration
