No. My train this morning was hauled by a class 50 loco. Us gricers call these hoovers because of the sound they make.

Owing to the serious incident which took place on the platform of Weston Super Mate station this morning, I'm dedicating a separate thread to todays journey.

Haarlem to Den Haag. 3 double decker coaches, quite full, but room to sit in first class. Just hoping they'll add extra coaches after the holiday season as the plebs have a nasty habit of moving to first class when second class is full.

I should point out for those interested that Haarlem Railway Station is a quite fabulous Art Nouveau building, well worth googling and certainly worth a visit for railway enthousiasts visiting the Low Countries.

Guess who was in coach F this morning again? That Michaela Whatserchops off the hitman and her. I'll tell you something, she's a right little cracker that one-put me right off reading my copy of Railway World (glad I had it though as I needed something to strategically place on my lap lol!). Don't know if she lives round here or if she's down here for the wildlife. A lot of them come down for the wildlife - we've had that Kate Humber here and that bloke off the desert island. All I can say is thank goodness I haven't run into Bill Oddie because he is, by all accounts, a kant.

Come on, if you're going to have a sockpuppet at least show some consistency!

Following my involuntary detraining at Bristol TM the other day, the result of wich made me 6 minutes late arriving at Warminster, Wiltshire, I was further delayed this morning owing to a slow running service ahead. It was one of those frustrating journeys in which the train inches forward for a couple of minutes and then grinds to a halt before inching forward again and so on.

Coach D was packed to the rafters this morning and I had the misfortune of having some young lady's derriere parked just a couple of inches from my face so I decided to get off at Chippenham and wait for the next service to Swindon which was running approximately 14 minutes behind us.

Having time to kill, I went to the end of platform 1 for a quick grice & was surprised to find that I wasn't alone. There were 3 other gents, all armed with their Ian Allen Combined Volume of Britich Diesel Locomotives and Multiple Units, just getting settled in for a day's spotting. And this at 7.12 am - Just goes to show what a sanguine bunch us gricers are lol!
