Ah, but surely a 'rail enthousiast' can include anybody ranging from aforementioned Peak Army 'bashers' to those, like me, who simply enjoy going on holiday and weekends away by train, preferably using the most luxurious trains, especially night trains, enjoying the journey while not taking a particular interest in the rolling stock?

Well, my interpretation of the term is that if you have no interest in the rolling stock you just do not understand so you are therefore a normal.

It can get worse than that. I've known some of the more radical elements to urinate over bystanders on platforms as the train passes through.
