NL+LD+SNP+PC = 325-SF

The maths do add up - but only just. The question is - what would be the SNP/PC price. While they will be aiming for a high price - simply keeping the Tories out may be considered adequate payment.

NL+LD would automatically include the SDLP (3) and Alliance (1). Add SNP and remove SF from the equation and that gives you a majority, even if Con take Thirsk (which is now by no-means a given).

ConDem would spell the end of any chance for electoral reform, and the Liberals would never forgive Clegg for getting so little in return.

Rainbow alliance to bring in a referendum for electoral reform in the next six months, followed by a swift election afterwards under the conditions supported by the referendum. Cameron's pledge for a committee is worthless - he will have called a new election under the new boundary changes and won a mandate under FPTP long before the committee reports. And do we really need a committee to tell us that FPTP is not the best system?
