Why is having red hair different. Only a small percentage of the population are bipolar. Only a small percentage are red-headed. You are born with both, they are both nature not nuture.

You wouldn't let a schizophrenic adopt a child and so therefore by inference you shouldn't let redheads adopt. It's an illness surely

Hmm, not sure I follow your "inference" there.
Now here is a case in point.

Ginger mingers(sorry redheads) = Viking Warriors
Blue eyes, blond hair = German
Slopy shoulders, smell of garlic = French

So now, you have moved the argument of one of mental health to eugenics.

So what you're saying Expat is ........
What happens in General, stays in General.
You know what they say about assumptions!

Idea of a dry run of the logic is great but we are still waiting... oh.. hang on.. that was it? You are picking a physical attribute to make a dry run of some logic on a mental state.... hmm good one that.. next time don't aim at your foot while you are playing with the trigger....

Tory election candidate Philip Lardner has been suspended for describing gay people on his website as "not normal", the party has confirmed.

Scottish Conservatives chairman Andrew Fulton described the Ayrshire North and Arran candidate's comments as "deeply offensive and unacceptable".
So what we are basically saying is that anyone who follows the main religions in this country and expresses publicly the beliefs of their religion is not allowed to enter politics.

With my post I wanted to see how distant we have become from religion. It seems that religion is now considered more deviant than homosexuality.

          Worl - it's a mental illness, innit.

The only kind of view I have on the whole homosexuality thing is what has already been mentioned about such a tiny minority getting a disproportionate amout of time spent on their issues. Things have changed sooo much in the last 15 years yet all they seem to do is complain.

Funny thing that kinda strikes me, and again is not saying I am for or against, but....

If it is so right and we all did it the human race will in fair bit of bother... Maybe that tells us something?

Well, the original post compared a mental state with a sexual preference. You might as well substitute "homosexual" for "man who likes brunettes" or "woman who likes tall men".

Ah ok I see where you are coming from there but the latter two of those are preferences. They may prefer brunettes but not all and also like people that are not. Homosexuality in the context of families and long term relationships is a set state of mind and has no bearing on 'preferences' so I say again is not a correct comparison.

Why adopt, why can't they have children of their own?
