Well, he did. The Brown/Darling plan is exactly what the more successful economies have followed to save their economies. Why can you not be proud of a British government achievement for once?Originally posted by Bunk View Post

(1) hadn't sold the Gold reserves at the bottom of the market
(2) hadn't turned Britain from being the best country in pension provision in Europe to one of the worst
(3) hadn't claimed to have abolished the business cycle
(4) had identified an artifical boom as such
I could go on.
The end result of Labour's reign is that Britain is in one of the worst financial positions it has ever been in.
HTHHard Brexit now!

It doesn't matter, All is forgiven. All those workshy bastards who work for the Civil Service are in fear for their jobs. There's enough of them to vote Labour back in power.Originally posted by sasguru View PostThat argument would hold more water if el Gordo:

Oddly enough nearly all the UK people I meet over here say they stay so their children can go to decent schools.Originally posted by sasguru View PostThey come back to send their children to school here?

Insanity: repeating the same actions, but expecting different results.

Ah you might now have the umming and arring about coming back to the UK. If you do then you'll have umming and arring about leaving the UK again, and umming and arring about whether it was a mistake to leave Aus.
When you left you ruined that blissful ignorance.
My advice, wait for reincarnation and don't go anywhere next time.I'm alright JackComment

Have you been back to the UK recently?Originally posted by aussielong View PostI've been out of England, in OZ for best part of 10 years.
I've never felt settled. Always to-ing and fro-ing inside my head about whether to stay here, or come back to England, despite finding a long term partner here in OZ.
Family is better than a sun tan right?
Anyone migrated long term then gone ditched it all and gone back?
The question that you need to ask is whether it is the same now as the image that you have of it in your mind, I suspect you will find it isn't (depending on which bit you are thinking about).
If I were you, I would make more of an effort to settle in Oz. The prospects for the medium term are so much better there.
I have been away for a little over one year and I really miss London but I would probably think it was tulip now if I went back.Comment
