That argument would hold more water if el Gordo:

(1) hadn't sold the Gold reserves at the bottom of the market
(2) hadn't turned Britain from being the best country in pension provision in Europe to one of the worst
(3) hadn't claimed to have abolished the business cycle
(4) had identified an artifical boom as such

I could go on.

The end result of Labour's reign is that Britain is in one of the worst financial positions it has ever been in.

I've been out of England, in OZ for best part of 10 years.

I've never felt settled. Always to-ing and fro-ing inside my head about whether to stay here, or come back to England, despite finding a long term partner here in OZ.

Family is better than a sun tan right?

The question that you need to ask is whether it is the same now as the image that you have of it in your mind, I suspect you will find it isn't (depending on which bit you are thinking about).

If I were you, I would make more of an effort to settle in Oz. The prospects for the medium term are so much better there.

I have been away for a little over one year and I really miss London but I would probably think it was tulip now if I went back.
