Anyone migrated long term?

I'm fortunate in that I can work a week in London every 6 months or so. On Monday, I think, "This is great, the bustle and people, etc." By Friday, though, I realised all the things that I left: the dirt, rudeness, being stuck on the central line in August, etc.

"Now I remember why I left" is a common comment from returning expats.

again ,what is it English people don't like England for ? Weather ? Sure, if that is the issue. Political system ? It is the same everywhere , in the UK it is actually fairly good. Salaries in the UK are higher than Australia ( I assume ) so what are you whining for ? Immigrants ? Need for change ?

Well, son, a funny thing about regret is, that it's always better to regret something that you have done, than to regret something you haven't done.

The weather, the decay of society and failing economy.

When I am in <another place that is warm> I miss London and all that has to offer. When I am in London the novelty wares off quick and I am making the comment above.

At the moment I am stuck here in one of those trips that went horribly wrong (I got sick and I've got other 'issues' to sort out too). I am desperate to get out of the country. If/when I do get out, I think that I will be avoiding the place like the plague.
