So when a company outsources an IT function to an offshore company, and the offshore company flies in a dozen guys and gals as an onshore team, is this still ICT? Or does this come under some other banner?

So, the answer is ......Originally posted by lightng View PostThe less people there are in this country to pay tax, the more tax we all have to pay.
Except, I'm stuck here at the moment. I've got several problems that stop me from returning to HAB Island.
I'm all up for the cheapest supplier rules, adapt or die, etc. However, what those numb skulls of nuLieBore have done has cause long-term damage to the country as a whole, not just to individuals. How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.

Good news:
[quote]From the spring of 2010 companies will only be able to transfer staff through the ICT route where they employed the individual for at least 12 months, doubling the existing 6 month threshold and the route will no longer lead to permanent residence in the UK.
Bad news:
So straight out of college really...An additional route will be created to allow graduates on global graduate programmes to transfer to the UK for a period of no more than 12 months where they have three months experience of working for the company.Behold the warranty -- the bold print giveth and the fine print taketh away.Comment

They are. It takes time.Originally posted by minestrone View PostWhy have the PCG never done anything with the information from the ictabuse website? It has been there for a year, I know I have sent them a couple of obviously dodgy jobs but they never even sent me an automated reply.
Some people on here should get a site going, start publishing replies from MPs on the subject.
Also they have lots of people saying what's going on, but nothing written down that would work as evidence. It only needs one documented case to blow the whole thing wide open, but if anybody has that evidence they're not putting it forward. So as far as Whitehall is concerned, there isn't a problem to resolve.
So the mesage seems to be, you want to keep the industry alive, stand up and be counted.Blog? What blog...?

Nonsense, they have been at it for a year, they must have had thousands and thousands of jobs reported through that site. The most the PCG have done on this is set up a website which we have no evidence actually gets maintained and appeared on radio Scotland once. It is a pretty damning record campaigning on a major issue and with that in mind they are obviously not up to the job, more interested in picking up a salary.Originally posted by malvolio View PostThey are. How much did they spend on that Times ad last week? Seriously? They could have used that money effectively but decide to spunk it on a page 60 ad telling everyone how great they are.
Miserable, totally miserable is how I would describe the PCG response to this.Comment

Wrong. they have thousands of shouty emails from people saying it's going on. They have nothing they can put on a table that will convince the authorities that abuse is taking place - i.e. documentary evidence on rates, conditions, allowances, contractor replacement programmes, whatever. It only takes one case.Originally posted by minestrone View PostNonsense, they have been at it for a year, they must have had thousands and thousands of jobs reported through that site.
