It looks better in the flesh (white in my case).

And you just need to close your eyes and hear it..

I see plenty of them in the city, the fact it's an Audi puts me right off.

However, I have had sports cars before (Porches and 350Z) and they are nothing but trouble.

Both were keyed, and even though the cars egged me on to drive fast, I could still only go 70 MPH.

I am now more of a £700 20 year old Beamer kind of guy.

The money pays for hols and mortgage pay off instead......
Back to the Atom - No body work - so can't be keyed
Back to the Atom - 0-60 in about 2.7.... (circa 2.9/3.0 to 70) - so legal and hair raisingly/frightningly fast

Get the nice new windscreen and you don't even need to wear a helmet!

Ah how i remember it well, 12 miles of automotive fun, just before it overheated and went back to the garage as usual. Shame really, beautiful cars, just wish they were driveable more often.

There is a touch of a the casino with them (certainly the older models) but I got some good guys looking after mine (Racing Green, Ash Vale) and I've done 42,000 on the clock, including a 5000 miles trip around Europe (inc Romania, Hungary and Croatia) with absolutely no problems.

I also used it as a daily work car for several years again, with no problems (apart from a flat battery and a dodgy first clutch that went after 15,000 miles).

6000 service interval as it's pretty much a race engine. But, it's handbuilt, doesn't have the budgets for reliability testing but you just cannot beat the driving experience - totally raw, scary, noisy as ***, teeth and buttock clenching invigorating driving experience.

The Griffith I had before the Tuscan was far more problematic with overheating, total undrivability etc.

Love cars like that, but as my back gets more and more problems, do like the more comfy fast cars!

At 37 i'm getting like that too, the porsche has just became a pain in the *rse... just too cramped. Never use it, and prefer the merc. Grand touring for me from now on! I guess in 3 years it's pretty much jag or aston time, with pipe and slippers too ;-)

And make sure the boot is big enough to fit your golf clubs and the whippet carrier.
