Europe has only had a more balanced approach over the last few years (and even the US is turning now) but even then it's not that balanced.

If it had been virtually any other country doing what they have been doing over the last few decades they would have been made "outcast" at the very least sactioned at best.

      Now we know

So it appears that the terrorists were Muslim and British born of Pakistani origins aged between 19 and 30. So do the tree huggers still think these animals debated US/UK foreign policy wrestling with their consciences before relunctantly coming forward as suicide bombers? No they are of the same ilk as those who went to Afganistan to train in Taliban training camps because they want to declare jihad on the West. I pay tribute to the police and security services for putting the pieces together so quickly.

Leeds, surely? And probably Luton as well as it clearly knows more than it's saying.

Chico, those bombers were no more muslims than many of the crusaders were christians. Saying you are a muslim (or a christian, jew, hindu, whatever) does not make you one. Fortunately actions do speak louder than words as far as God is concerned.

Lucifer, I take your point. But do you not feel that there are aspects of the Islamic faith that encourage such actions? It is claimed that Islam is a peaceful faith, but I can't remember the last time a Buddhist blew up a bus.

Well, it is true that there are people who claim to be muslims that say such actions are justified in the Islamic faith. The vast majority of mainstream muslim opinion seems to disagree with that. Equally there are people who claim to be christians who say that christian faith justifies other sorts of nastiness (Lebanese christian terrorists in the 1980s, say). Again, mainstream opinion does not seem to concur with that. I guess it shows there are extremists everywhere. Except possibly buddhists.

Okay, what about the W.I.? Surely they are harmless....unless there's a shortage of eccles cakes.

                    Hmmm

The problem is that the Koran justifies killing non-believers, whatever Muslims say to deny it.
However I am sure they believe in their book just as much as Chico believes in his and probably experienced the same feelings of religious hysteria as Chico has.

The root problem here is that modern people believe in in what some medieval or pre-medieval prophet has to say and apply it to modern conditions

It does not just justify it. The Koran says it is the DUTY of every Muslim to kill the non believers.
It also says that Muslims who deny the teachings of Islam are to be killed as non believers.
It is a Manifesto for fanatics.
It does however allow Muslims to ignore these teachings untill they feel strong enough to implement them.... which should allow us all to sleep more soundly.
Obviously these tykes felt the time was right.
I am not qualified to give the above advice!
