Essentially, it seems that connected young people don't care that everyone can read all about them for years to come, it's only old fogeys who still think there is such a thing as privacy anyway.

True. There was that story the other day about Stephen Fry taking a break from telling everyone on Twitter what he's doing every hour of the day, so that he can spend more time writing a book about what he was doing a few years ago.

This will surely be a self-perpetuating problem. In a few years time he's going to have to take another break from Twitter so he can write a book about what he was doing this time when he's taking a break from Twitter. And then, a few years after that...

What I really hate is when you Google for someone who is due to interview you, in the hope that you'll find something brilliantly in common which you can casually mention in the interview and basically guarantee the job, only to find that they are good looking, young, trendy, live in an ultra-cool apartment and write a state-of-the-art technical blog which is always up-to-date and obviously has a legion of devoted followers. One day I'll find someone who is fat, middle-aged and lists their interests as "beer".
