      Yep!

      It Froze solid.

Paths and roads are like a skating rink.

Even the grass is coated with a layer of hard ice.

Falling on the lawn would be like throwing yourself onto a bed of Ginsu knives. Even the birds appear to be avoiding landing on the grass

-7°C most of yesterday, snowing all day. Brilliant sunshine this morning. -14°C. Glühwein later, I think.

liberal use of the term 'white out'. in over 20 years of mountaineering, i can say i've been in a whiteout only 5 times. each was as terrifying and dangerous as the last and never to be forgotten. nowhere, ever, have i seen anything remotely resembling a whiteout at street level.

still, it's snowy outside, i've been out to feed the birds, pusscat is on the duvet and i'm about to head out into the hills with a bunch of good friends. a good meal and lots of wine later

what are the odds on a white chrimbo now anyone?

Meant to get warmer I think in the following days.

And on the use of white out, visibilty was down to 5 meters for a short spell. Ben Lomond was visible there for 20 minutes from 30 miles away.

Sunny here (S Wales), but still sub-zero temperatures.
I put salt on the drive and path this morning. It's frozen

Very snowy in North Manchester - very glad I've nothing to do for the next week or so
I'm sorry, but I'll make no apologies for this

Been chucking it down all afternoon here. Watching the Premier League shows that the UK looks quite sunny (well Wolverhampton and London anyway)
