Another thing that annoys me is vehicles that don’t give way to pedestrians crossing the road at road junctions. The worst being cars that turn a corner and then sounding the horn at pedestrians that are half way across the road. WTF do they expect them to do? Last year I saw it happen and the pedestrian kicked the car in after narrowly missing him. (Well done I thought)

Mind you most pedestrians seem to be unaware of their right of way which can occasionally result in a politeness standoff as you both try and give way to each other.Coffee's for closersComment

Roundabouts
Staying in the general motoring theme, I will add another gripe.
We have approximately 400 million mini roundabouts where I live. Surely that should make the inhabitants of this town therefore EXPERTS at using a roundabout? Nooo. No no.
Each entry point to the small roundabout has a car waiting - no one will actually start the ball rolling by moving. I therefore decide to be the one to move first, at which point at least one of the other waiting vehicles (usually the one to my left) will think "oh, well, if she's going - so am I".
A woman I work with admitted she had no idea how to use lanes on a roundabout. She thought there was more than one "to make room for all the cars" and 'always uses the left lane cos it's easier' - regardless of the exit required. Yep, she's one of them.
This then led on to a discussion about when to move onto a roundabout - my stance was, when it's clear for you to do so. My colleague argued that you could move into the left lane if there was a car coming round on the inside. That's got to be wrong, surely. What if the car on the inside is about to move to the outside, in order to leave the roundabout?Practically perfect in every way....there's a time and (more importantly) a place for malarkey.

Another indicator of poor judgment that sits quite well with your other assertions on lane discipline and general motorway etiquette sadly.
Hard Brexit now!

As it happens, I have been driving for well over 30 years and have driven the best part of a million miles, in all sorts of vehicles, in all manner of countries worldwide. I have had few problems in all that time, so don't need any johnny-come-lately preaching to me about "how to drive properly", thanks all the same.
It is not rocket science to adhere to (or at least close to) clearly defined speed limits. If people made more of an attempt to do that then they might well find that, magically, less people were getting "in their way".
I loathe people who seem to think that just because they have been doing something for "X" years means that they are automatically good at it.
I have been playing golf for 30 years and guess what I am still s*it at it. During my 30 years of "swinging" I have developed some nasty and incurable aspects to my swing .
I also loathe self righteous tw*ts" who think it is alright for them to do 75 in a 70 mph speed limit but it is not alright for someone else to do 80 mph.
being a Londoner I get irritated by people who stand on the left of an escalator
I have a particular problem with old people who think that just because they have time everyone else also has time to wait for them.
I always open and hold doors for people and thank others for doing the same to me. Why cant people say "thank you"? or simply smile?Let us not forget EU open doors immigration benefits IT contractors more than anyoneComment
