he has never heard of moses, jesus or mohammed (peas be upon him)

then he dies. does he go to heaven ?

answer - he goes to hell

reason - he has never accepted jesus.

    scary

I think it's not so cut and dried. All this stuff is shrouded in ineffability and though frustrating, for good reason.

Was this a Priest, or a Vicar? I didn't think Roman Catholics thought accepting Jesus was the only way to heaven (I reckon the bible claims otherwise but anyway surprised a priest would make that claim).
No Christian can have the definitive answer to these questions really because it's not answered in the bible, all they can do is trust God knows best. Even for Christians of course that's hard... it's easy to say it to someone else who has lost a baby but equally easy to doubt when it happens to you.
I suppose the theologians would say it's all because of original sin that we have to live in a world which contains such ugliness in the first place. But that's an even bigger can of worms

I don't remember Cybermong ever changing his mind in a discussion, or even trying to meet anyone half way. Once he announced an opinion that was that and arguing with him, however reasonably, was like talking to a closed book.

I won't miss him, although some of his threads were quite funny, mostly on account of the ensuing replies.

The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

I find that hard to believe. Whatever judgement takes place will be fair. Is your brother cut out to be a priest?

I wasn't fussed with cybertory being here - I simply had him on ignore and tried to ignore his comments when they were quoted by others. People like that are really not worth wasting time with. He was only one of two people who genuinely seem to get their jollies out of being obnoxious, and the ignore function works for the one remaining so I can't really see the problem.

...and I agree about sockpuppets - very dull, very silly.
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God? - Epicurus

                      Perfectly normal behaviour surely?
