I am trying, but I guess perseverance is the name of the game.
Better to have tried and failed - and all that.Last edited by ancient; 8 November 2005, 18:31.Comment

The usual story. Told one thing at the interview and a completely different story on the ground.
Luckily the contract ends in December.
Oh and it's £400/day for having a tulip, so not so bad.Comment

DP,
I am the same in my current contract. In fact, seeing a great message on this board in the highlight of my day. Oh well. I have thought of a few things to brighten the days:
- learn a new skill on line. It looks like you're doing some work so no one will think you're not working. I am re-learning Java at the moment. I also did it in a previous contract, learnt MySQL and PHP at client's expense and used it in my next contract!
- write an application that every second displays how much you have earned so far during the day instead of a clock. That's what I have done using in MS Access. Killed a couple of hours and now instead of counting the seconds I can count the pennies.
- get an online broker and trade on line. No need to invest lots, just a few £100s and keep selling and buying and make a little money every time. Makes the day go so much faster
- ... can't think of anything else but I'm sure there's loads moreChico, what time is it?Comment
