saw the point of the discussion

saw it was fruitless and non productive due to the fact that the question which is really being asked is whether people with some form of infection which can be passed on via an airborne method should work or stay at home.

And more to the point if they go to work are they by definition 'winkers'

We all go to work with a cold or other forms of flu this is no different.

The media coverage is making people think it is more than it is.

Therefore is a red herring and therefore not worth discussing.

If you are hiring a builder to build you a garage and he turns up sick and does shoddy work or spends most of the time sitting about, would you be happy when he bills a full days' work?
You might only be capable of shoddy work when suffering from a cold/mild flu, but please do not assume that we are all so hapless. As for sg, I doubt if anyone would notice whether or not he bothered to show up for work, save for the lack of the all pervading aroma of cabbage and Vicks.

That's quite an admission to make publicly.

People on this forum don't discuss going to work with a cold. They discuss going into work when so ill it's a struggle to make the commute. I doubt many people can deliver top-quality work in such situations.
On the other hand, maybe your work doesn't require much in the way of brainpower?
