Was it gestational diabetes or are they all big buggers in your families?
We're all very tall; my ex-wife is 5ft11, I'm 6ft1.
FemaleChild was full of water and lost a good few ounces within a week of being born; the hospital kept them both in for a week after because they were concerned (although I think that it was so that all of the midwives could come and have a poke of her!).
My wife is 5'1" and our son was 10lb 12oz. Took her a year to recover, as he went through the normal channels. But it didn't put her off, and the other two sprogs were normal in size.
