Nick was not talking about the merits or otherwise of off-shoring or out-sourcing but was complaining about the casual racism and outdated images posted by some (mich the tester) for example as OS posts shows.

What's so racist with taking the piss? I'll tell you what's racist; scummy pimps from western insultancies supplying fake CVs of Indian programmers, selling the services at nearly western rates and then paying their Indian techies a wage that would be a pittance by our standards. Taking the piss isn't racism. Paying third world people a tulip salary just to stick more money in your own bloated wallet; that's racism.

Just like selling thousand dollar handbags that were sewn together by illiterate 9 year olds in Cambodia and then writing 'made in Italy' on them because some bloke in Milan stitched the handle on. Or flogging bananas at a massive margin whle the people who grew them end up drowning in debt to the fertilizer companies. I agree about the conmen and stuff, I have a track record of stating similar, but the image of IT workers returning home to slums is a bit wide of the mark. Skid marks are your personal experience and I do not doubt you for one moment.
