They didnt sack them though - they terminated their contract.

If permanent employees were sacked to make room for non-EU staff there would be an employment law issue but I dont see how this could apply to contractors. As I understand it a permanent position has to be advertised and if it isnt filled then a company may employ someone from outside the EU.

As regards contracts - surely they just award a contract to a company offering the cheapest price. How that company staffs the contract is their business isnt it ?

Nobody really believes that bit about "specialist skills" either; that is just another blatant attempt to bend the rules and save some money on the NHS programme that is already £12bn overspent.
I might be a simple chap but I still can't figure out how to spend £12bn on IT without there being lots of top class prostitutes and a few learjets thrown in.
And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014

That's called the Buisness Process Design phase before you get to the IT solution part. It's generally 4 years of workshops at the best locations your company has a presence in with first class travel.

Apart from the fact that BT have a not insignificant interest in Tech Mahindra...

I agree that BT are clearly exploiting things and are 'not breaking any rules', but thats what public profit oriented companies do isn't it ? Would their shareholders approve of this ? Probably.

I wonder how many ex-labour minsters are going to end up with directorships in BT?

Maybe the Queen could bring over a load of Indians to run Parliament. Much cheaper than hiring MPs, and there would be plenty quickness too.

Labour have had it in for IT since they got in. Especially freelance ITers.
