Time will tell, but I don't think my kids personally have suffered from going to nursery, if for a second I did then I'd take them out and my missus would be a full time mum.
I dont know what you think about this Snaw, it made me sit up and think. A friend of the missus is a junior school teacher of many years experience and the missus was telling her how well the grandkids are doing at reading and even writing, how advanced they are.

Snaw!!!! I am so shocked at you like.

You are so up your own a8se I'm quite literally astounded!

You think if I disagree with you, I'm wrong. You think if 2 people disagree with you, one of them is my sock puppet?!!

I dont actually believe Ivor was having a "viscious attack" on you like - I think he was responding to the horrific shlte you came out with about kids who dont go to nursery! Which you truly deserved, because you were basically implying that kids who dont go to nursery are a bit backward, which is just utterly shocking!

I'm please Ivor had the ability to string all that together quite honestly, cause I had to go and calm down a bit.

If I wanted to have a viscious attack at you, I'd do it myself sweetheart. probably by implying that you were some sort of indoor scalf-wearing sell out.
Nah SA. I think you want to go re-read his post and think about who's disagreeing, as opposed to who's actually outright having a pop.

I'm not saying kids who don't go to nursery are backward at all, I'm saying kids who go to nursery are usually better socially. It's not something that's going to last for ever. I balanced it by saying kids who go to nursery are usually more aggro. There is no right or wrong choice - and I've repeatedly stated that.

And fair enough you're not Ivor, I just found it a bit odd he jumps in feet first, and has a full on attack on my parenting skills, my life with my kids, and my upbringing based on a couple of comments on kids in nurseries ...

And yes, you do need to go calm down a bit. You're taking this a wee bit too personally, but then again every month there's something which you go off the handle at. Guess it's my turn this month ...

Back on topic, if anyone remembers what it was to start with.

Looks like we have lots of folks coming out of contracts in the next cuouple of months, with nothing lined up and not much prospect of anything either.

Is this where the recession really starts to bite?

I'd be bricking myself about now if it was me, and I'm more and more convinvced that I made the right decision to go permie back in January rather than trying to tough it out.

Yeah, I've read some stuff on one of the Scandinavian countries, where the kids don't really start proper school till around 7 - they mainly do play stuff before that. Initially they're behind their foreign educated peers, but they quickly catch up and in the long run do better.

Snaw, I'm sure you do things which in your mind are "for the best".
To me, that is not in question. We all do that. The problem is generalisations.

Each kid is different and needs different things at different times. No one "thing" is best for them because even negative things can spur a child on to be in a better place (later on in life).

The best thing I've heard about child rearing is that its like a rollercoaster ride - at times you have to hang on with white knuckles. You can do no more than keep the children in the cart.

But hell, that's only my opinion. You shouldn't care if you think I'm wrong.
However, you should care if you think I may be right.

Eh??? And you're saying that I have had an attack on your parenting skills, your life with your kids, and your upbringing?? And that's the comparison??

I was comenting on how much people were paying for the childcare of a 2 year old. That was my point - pretty much the only thing I've been talking about throughout this whole thread.

You came along and completely over reacted like a delicate little flower.

You've been so completly over emotional on this topic - I'm starting to think it is YOU who has the monthly issues?
