Is the iPhone camera as bad as people say? I have an N82 which isn't the easiest to use but it has the best phone camera on the market (at the time of purchase), I know it's primarily a phone but having a good camera at all times is important to me as I can't a afford to miss a precious moment with an 18 month old kid.

Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson -

It's 2MP with ok optics, which is fine for snaps but there's no LED or xenon so it's crap in low-light."See, you think I give a tulip. Wrong. In fact, while you talk, I'm thinking; How can I give less of a tulip? That's why I look interested."Comment

In all honesty I don't know. For the kind of pics I take with a phone they come out just fine. Maybe they might look better on another phone but it's all relative. You want to catch the fact that your kid has just got to his feet for the first time, not compose an award winning techically stunning photograph.
Having said that, the "shutter speed" can be a little slow. It's about a half sec delay between pressing the button and taking the shot. But again, it's not a huge issue for off the cuff, informal shots."Being nice costs nothing and sometimes gets you extra bacon" - Pondlife.Comment

I have quite a few 7"x5" pics that I've had framed, I don't think a 2MP camera would be any good for that.Science isn't about why, it's about why not. hmm, it's impressive to start with, but the battery life is shocking, and the
actual phone is poor, many times my screen has gone blank and I've had to
wait for it to revert back to the phone application before the call can end.
After the novelty wears off, I don't think it's all that (as a phone if not
a portable media player)Comment
