We have one and Mrs M seems intent on turning bread making into some form of cottage industry. She has been teaching Master M how to measure out the ingrediants and they both love making loaves.

You cant beat warm bread straight from the machine!! MMMMmmmm!!!

Aye, bacon and egg sandwiches on fresh, warm bread are magnificent.
Where are we going? And what’s with this hand basket?

1 - you can buy bread cheaply from Tesco

        .
Commercially made bread is one of the most unhealthy things you can eat.
A few slices take you to your max recommended limit for salt. The flour is processed to within an inch of its life and it has agents added to make it last longer.

When people eat crap like this is it any wonder that there is a growing epidemic of obesity, diabetes and heart disease in the UK?

The best breadmaker is a Panasonic. Look it up on amazon - the one with hundreds of good reviews

My parents have one and swear by it but I just always do it by hand. Kneading is good for stress.

It's definitely an art but we were taught how to do it in school (yes, I did cookery and not woodwork in school )

Depends what you buy... bread that stays fresh a long time or is very cheap is not good. But fresh-baked bread in their own on-site bakery, that goes stale in 1-2 days - surely that's loads better.

Yep, the Panasonic is the dogs danglies of bread makers. Mrs Bloggs used it religiously every day for the last 2 years. The non-stick coating is coming off the bread container now so it isn't working so well now.

A bread maker is a just another machine the missus buys to sit in the kitchen and gather dust.
