With all due respect, I would prefer not to answer that question.

          What nobody has twigged...

... all three of you have been told the same thing and you're all out. But giving it 100% in the meantime.

The other person was just sounding you out.

it's just that there is a bit of a culture in this country to make a distinction between telling a lie, and telling a white lie.

Makes life tricky sometimes, especially bringing up kids.

Personally, (and I hate lying), I'd have said :

Other Chap : "Have you heard anything about contract extensions ?"

BGG : "I'm sorry, but I cannot comment on that issue"

You wouldn't have lied, and at the same, haven't told him anything.
Yes you would. He'd know that you know something but you're unable to talk about it.

You could just say. "Yes, I believe we'll know by May."
Down with racism. Long live miscegenation!

How do we know you are telling the truth? You could be lying about lying.

I know - but a lie is a lie - sometimes it does hurt - but Honesty is indeed the best policy - the Truth always comes out at the end.

As an experiment - just try not to tell any lies through your day - if its really hard then say nothing at all.

Is is possible to live only in and by the Truth ?

                  Find Out !
