Makes life tricky sometimes, especially bringing up kids.
Friend of mine and his Mrs resolved to avoid telling the kids about Santa and all that make believe.

Hence, when they were just starting to talk and Xmas came around, the family had a proper chat and it was explained to them.

Doesn't mean they don't get xmas pressies or enjoy xmas any less, but it does mean the parents don't have to fill their heads with make believe.
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Good point, i could actually be a 63 year old male machine operative from Shropshire who likes to pretend he's a contractor.

I'm sorry, but I'll make no apologies for this

                  I think it's kinda sad....

Kids should be able to have a bit of make believe, it doesn't hurt them.

anyway, thats just my tuppence worth.

lying is the cornerstone of contracting.

Its the clients job to lie to the agent about how many jobs they have and agencies
Its the clients job to lie to the contractor about having a full spec and workspace
Its the agents job to lie to the client about market conditions , rates and supply
Its the agents job to lie to the contractor about how good the job is and what the client offers
Its the contractors job to lie to the agent about other offers and interviews
Its the contractors job to lie to the client about previous experience and suitability
