WTF is 6 sigma anyway? Sounds like it should be some mathematical algo system used by quants.
I remember 6 sigma courses being offered when i was working as a consulting permie, but since nobody knew WTF is really was, and there was nobody banging down the door asking for 6 sigma black belts on their projects, then it was pretty unpopular.Comment

Ok, so it's another "methodology" to add to the pile then?
I'm in the process of imagineering my own methodology called "snake oil"Comment

I have (of six sigma). It's a good system but generally mis-applied. It was designed for GE aerospace and nuclear to ensure reliability (where you really don't want to just slap it on and hope for the best), the six sigma relates to the percentile, so 99.9999 reliability is six sigma. I could tell you more but then I'd need paying and I'm not seeing anything on the table here.Originally posted by oracleslave View PostNot had any first hand experience so couldn't comment objectively.......
Read that cloud article too, and though I hate to say it I agree with sasguru - just seems to be wi-fi, internet, data centre with a bit of virtualization thrown in.Bored.Comment
