Plus in some parts of the country, factory work is about as good as it gets.
Rubbish, in the 80s recession my dad (got on his bike and) found high paid work in another part of the country. Many skilled tradesmen do that, as us contractors do. Nothing to stop the unskilled doing it too. E.g. Sainsburys pay distribution staff 30k plus for a relatively easy unskiled job, that's a fair bit more than minimum wage. If you a lazy or feckless barsteward you get rewarded as such on the whole.
The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

It's not going to be so easy in this recession because so many jobs are done at lower wages by Poles, and unemployment will be much higher. How many Poles or other immigrants did we have in Thatcher's Britain ? Oh for a return to those halcyon days !!!!

Quite a few immigrants/asylum seekers perhaps not so many poles as the Berlin Wall hadn't come down then and it wasn't part of the EU. Shall I read you a bedtime story?

Nowhere near the estimated 5 million immigrants that Labour have added to the population in the last 10 years. That's a ticking time-bomb because they will be keeping their jobs on lower wages while the Brits are losing theirs.

Still on benefits partly funded by the Poles

Many Poles will be working for cash in hand as self-employed etc and not paying tax.

A very astute Observation- if I may say.

May it be well said - it is refreshing to read the thoughts of a highly original thinker.

Indeed - then to you- my thanks for your fresh perspective upon this question of Economics and Social needs.

So have they, especially when they go to the benefit office to claim child allowance for their five non-existant kids Warsaw.

I wouldn't worry about it too much, you're quite old aren't you?
You'll be out of your misery before you know it
