Neither. It is a closely guarded secret.

On a secondary note - how do I go about reporting clientco to immigration so they get raided?

Yes that is indeed a cultural flaw that needs careful managing.

How do you do it? I'm sure most of the PMs here could do with a few lessons.

First you need to find out how big the bribe clientco offered .....
How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.

The sad fact is that enough money will buy you anything in India, bribery is part of the way of life. If you have enough money and want an MCSE you can get one. If you have some spare money and know the right person, you can get one and so on and so forth.

I'm not saying that it is any better in Pakistan, as I'm sure it is not (they seem to have a healthy slice of violence to go along with the corruption).

From your post I take it you are of Indian descent.
                WHS.

This actually happened where I used to work. The factory got busted and immigration took away around 30 illegal immigrants. Didn't help the production figures for the next week

Have you ever visited one of the large IT company's campuses in India? They put anything here to shame in terms of facilities, training and quality of workers.
The problems that arise with off-shoring (as opposed to outsourcing) in my experience are these, in order:

                    1. Poor project management - mainly bad specification of deliverables
                    2. Inability to overcome cultural differences

If you have a good project manager dedicated to managing the process, it can very successful. Coding is the easy part as usual. Any reasonably intelligent person can do it.

You should see the people that walk into my wife's office. These are real people...here mainly working for cash..claiming benefits..working illegally..with forged documents. And you realise just how much scamming is going on.

You should have seen the guy yesterday, who transferred properties he owns to someone else to obtain benefits so he could obtain legal aid. When he lost the case...the court hated him so bad that he actually had to pay costs! Now he is trying to have himself declared bankrupt because he thinks the debt will just "disappear".

When these older clients come in they are not seeking advice. They are seeking your co-operation with their deceit.
