210 mph following the M3 in the Seneca...

175+ mph (indicated) in the Tuscan in Germany a few years back, racing a white 911

125 mph for 20 mins in an uprated Escort on the M1 back in 1988.

Now keep to the speed limits mainly but occasionally on a sunny day and empty road accelerate to bannable speeds and back (albeit extremely briefly).
If you think my attitude stinks, you should smell my fingers.

      Rubbish!

Most cars won't red line in top gear, you'll hit your top speed at around 7/8'ths of the maximum revs.

And even if they don't, the rev limiter would stop you going faster and causing damage.

Just been down to the local nick to hand myself in. I pleaded with them for 2 hours but they were having none of it. Apparently I need to video myself so they've got some evidence. They also only accept Betamax tapes as they got a job lot and find there's less pilfering by the cleaners.

Maybe they'll be happy with a clip recorded on my mobile phone, then they can also do me for using it while driving. I'm sure in this day and age I can just MMS it to 999 and await the reply "You're nicked"?
Feist - 1234. One camera, one take, no editing. Superb. How they did it

My dad got caught 5 years ago clocked at 127mph on the M4, the police with the camera were on the bridge they then radioed ahead to police waiting at the next junction. He had to drive approx 50k miles a year for his job and had also passed his Advanced Driver test, which you have to re-take every year or something to keep it current. Everything was taken into consideration and at the time he got 6months ban and fine was £5k or something, they let he pay more fine to reduce the length of ban.

I was one of the first on scene of a nasty high speed motorway accident years ago, car was towards London on the M40 just as it becomes the A40, he was going very fast and lost control control for some reason and slammed the car straight into the central reservation, bounced off this pushing it under a truck. What I saw put me off driving fast . Plus Im to much p*ssy and dont want to wreck the engine

Habitually take my car to 100 (indicated on the speedo) when on A roads or motorway as part of my daily commute. Only do it on the way in when its light and when traffic and conditions permit, which is most days. I choose 100 because it's where the ban kicks in. It's no big deal, the car is comfortable at that speed and the roads on my route are suitable. I do it to get to work sooner so I can leave sooner. A copper stopping me from doing that is just collecting tax. They can have it if they catch me - face, bovered.

No, you t**t, copper stopping you is likely to be saving at least one life terminated prematurely because of your stupidity - the more often you speed like this, the more likely you will kill yourself and most likely someone else - most people don't even realise that airbags and other safety stuff is tested for speeds of around 40 mph, you are screwed at high speed!. Only a handful of good cars like Ferrari manage to save lifes of drives at these kind of speeds when serious accident happens.

Also, a bit of reality check for you all - speeding is a criminal offence.

I'm with Shoes; I regularly do 100mph ish too. Speed doesn't cause accidents; there isn't a an accident you could have at 100mph which would be guaranteed safe at 70mph. And if you drove around on the motorways at 40mph (maybe reading some nonsense about that's what the safety equipment is tested for), you'd be a serious hazzard and possibly cause an accident.

I like your assertion that Ferraris are the safest cars on the road.Maybe they should be teaching Renault and Volvo a thing or two.

Tonight I could have been killed on the road. I was waiting at the traffic lights by the M3/A34 junction and as the lights were changing a lorry coming round the roundabout obviously ran the red light. If I'd been a bit quicker off the mark I'd have probably been hit drivers side on by an HGV at 40mph. I doubt I'd have been here telling you about it. And you know what? Neither of us were speeding.
