One of the easiest car to speed has to be the Aston Martin DB9. I borrowed a friend's and managed 150 mph on the approach to Aylesbury on the M41 (nice dip and swerve) sometime ago. So effortless, it was unbelievable. BTW, a lot of you seem to be speeding on the M4 - I always thought those camera signs were fake, but I may be wrong - I wait till get on the M5 down to Devon/Cornwall to hit upwards of 100 mph.
My red line only starts at 8,000 rpm, the limiter kicks in at 8,400 rpm.

The main danger is going from 5th to 6th, I’ve hit 4th accidentally a couple of times but dipped the clutch before it could blow up!
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson

I voted over 140 because I once got the speedo in my little fiesta 1.3S (for sport!!) to go right the way round past all the numbers (so it was probably just touching 60...). I shot past an XR2 much to my glee (I was 17 at the time) then the car died about 2 miles further down the M4.

Eventually got it looked at in a garage and I was told I had melted bits of the engine, seems the cooling system wasn't working correctly and it really didn't like a sustained motorway drive at 8000 RPM....

Had to get a new (second hand) engine put in it in the end.

I did that in my Fiesta 1.1 Popular Plus, I can tell you 100mph+ in a car like that feels a lot faster when the steering wheel shakes and the windows rattle, I'd image a Veyron hitting 250mph would feel much the same!

No I think a veyron would fell much more stable than an old Fiesta MK2... The bloody things used to rattle at 50 ffs . The best part was you could never lock your key in them because any other MK2 fiesta key would open it (along with a random selection of other keys).

I saw this some bloke videoing himself driving at 125mph. I love the quote in the article

"Even more incredible than the footage of people swerving out of the way of the man hurtling down the M23 in Sussex is that it appears to be in a Vauxhall Cavalier".

I try not to go above 100 - I couldn't cope with a ban if I got caught...

Planning a trip to Germany this year though. Going to try for 150+
