The fact that you sniffed a small quantity of cocaine and didn't notice much doesn't have any meaning. There are plenty people who've taken heroin once and said it wasn't much cop. It depdends on how much and how often you use it.

I reckon you'd need a serious wad of cash to get to the level of addiction to coke in a few weeks. I never got to that despite being social after a few years. Many people I know the same. In fact I know of two people who I can genuinely say have a problem. I know quite a few more alkies.

The non medicinal drug user is usually a person with little or no self esteem, fearful of facing reality and few if any real friends. they are often of low intelligence and try to pass off their failings as the norm.

I have no respect whatsoever for drug users of any ilk. they are all addicts, the difference is merely a matter of degree. once an hour, a day, a week, a month or just when partying. It makes no difference. if they need to take drugs to function as a normal person Ie. enjoy themselves, then they are addicts.

Note the term: "Enjoy Themselves" they obliviously do not enjoy who or what they themselves are, and therefore have to blunt or deceive their own minds in order do so.

They are pathetic creatures and deserve only contempt.

And maybe speak to the OED if you want to re-define the meaning of addict all on your own.

I know quite a few people that have done a line and their response is, "I didn't really feel much" ... I think it has been hyped up to be some drug that throws you out of control.

I'm less worried about heroin actually Snaw because it doesn't cause irreversible brain damage. Heroin is prescribed to cancer patients (dia-morphine), and some of them recover and taken off it. They don't have any craving.

Heroin is physically addictive - you will suffer if you have to stop.

Cocaine is merely psychologically addictive so if you can't give up you're a weak minded fool.

Yes but over use of Cocaine actually f** you up (crack is nothing more than very concentrated cocaine), heroin is physically addictive but you can recover from completely. There are actually a lot of prefectly healthy ex-heroin addicts. But obviously you can overdose. A high proportion of 60's rockstars were on heroin eg John Lennon, Mick Jagger, and the ones that didn't overdose are perfectly healthy.

Are you saying that heroin is fine because some people can recover? (forgetting about the thousands who die every year).

Whereas coke is devil spawn because it *can* sometimes, if horrifically over used, leave harmful side effects (even though hundreds of thousands of people use it every year without problem)

Severe over-use will totally ruin your dopamine transporter, but to get the same effect as a single rock of crack you'd have to be a rock-star.
